Changing me? That’s hard.

It’s been a few mornings  of L1 (6.5yrs) doing things to his brothers and his brothers screaming in response.

Me: The last two mornings, I have been waken up by screaming.
L1: I’ve been trying to change that.  I keep telling my brothers, “Don’t scream.”
Me (stopping L1 abruptly): if you want to change that, you need to start by changing what’s in *your* heart and what *you’re* doing.
L1 (very matter of factly in statement form): Well, that’s a little hard, isn’t it.
