L2 (8yrs) to MrA: You’re great at electricity–like Ben Franklin!
Words
L2 (8yrs) animatedly to MrsA one evening:
Early in my life, I was good at speaking.
Now I’m good at singing and reading.
It all connects in one way.
WORDS.
I’m very good at words.
Christmas Children’s Program
The kids were up front for a special time with kids for Advent and got to answer various questions.
Pastor Kyle asked the kids what a miracle was.
L2 (8yrs): It’s when God does something that is impossible for humans to do.
Me to MrA.: That’s our kid! High five!
Later question: What is a miracle that you wish God would do?
L2: I wish he would make the Lego company start making Lego castle sets again.
L1:
Then L2 volunteered to wrap up the children’s time for praying for the church. He took the microphone and prayed: God, I hope you can help the church…so it’s not so hard to run. Amen.
The pastor and the church members and the parents all looked confused.
When L2 got back to his seat, we asked what he was meaning. “So the church isn’t so hard to run. They keep having to put up new screens and fix things and work on computers and have trouble making things work. I asked God to make things not so hard to run.”
I guess MrA and I should stop talking so much about the church tech issues over supper. 😆
Solving disagreements
Overheard as boys were talking at bedtime:
L3 (5yrs): I’m right.
L2 (8yrs): No, I’m right.
L3: I heard Prodigy
L2: Well, I said Starfall.
L3: You said Prodigy
L2: No, I didn’t.
L3: Yes you did! I’m right.
L2: I’m RIGHT!
L3: I’m RIGHT!
L2 (more calmly): You might have heard something different than what I said.
L3: I’m right!
L2: Let’s plan rock, paper, scissors and see who’s right.
L3: Okay!
L2: Choose paper if you think you’re right.
L3: Okay!
Boys together: *Rock, Paper, Scissors, Go!*
*victorious laughter of L2*
L2: I’m right!
What’s your weapon?
Overheard when the boys were playing battle on the playground…
L2 (8yrs): They’ve got muskets, but we’re coming in the Name of the Lord!
