Conversations while driving home from school with L1 (6.5yrs) this afternoon:
L1: I wrote some Spanish today!
Me: Oh, good! What did you write?
L1: I don’t know! I can’t read!

Me: Did you talk to any of the other students today?
L1: Yes, I have a BEST friend in EACH CLASS!
Me: What are their names?
L1: I don’t know. I didn’t learn any names.
L1 (6yrs) to Mr. Bill: Our favorite campground to go to is Bowman Campground.
L2 (4.5yrs): But we can’t go by ourselves. We have to bring Mommy and Daddy so they can bring bear spray.
We were on our way back from a waterfall hike when L2 spoke up.
L2 (4.5yrs): Mom, I have jars of gummy worms so that if I get hungry on a hike and you don’t give me any snacks, I won’t be hungry.
Me: Oh, can I see them?
L2 (mimes pulling out a jar and unscrewing the lid and showing me inside): They’re all gone now.
(Mimes screwing lid back on and putting the jar away.)
