Time terms

From L2 (2-3yrs):

…Remember lasterday…

Or lasteryear

Or for things that were a really long time ago: remember laster-laster-laster-lasterday?

From L1 (age 4): I like milk in my cereal all the days, but not some days. (I.e. sometimes)

A stereotypical brother conversation

L2 playing quietly with a toy

L1 comes up to L2: L2, do you want to play with that toy all the day and not share it with me?

L2 (preoccupied): mm-hmm

L1 comes whining to mama in emergency mode: Mommy! He said he’s going to play with that toy all the day and not share it with me!!!

Car accident…

L1 (4yrs) looking at a flattened cardboard car from Steak n Shake: Oh no! Someone damaged it!

L2 (3yrs) with hand gestures: No, I flatted it!

Theology questions

L1 (4yrs): Did Jesus make us and we make Jesus?

Me: Jesus helped make us, but we didn’t make him.

L1: So did Jesus make Jesus?

…. Many questions later…

Me: I feel like I’ve been conversing with a theologian this morning. A very confused theologian.

Connecting

Little boy–in the middle of changing clothes–running into the room where I’m nursing the baby.  “Mommy!  Our two legs connect to our bottom!”
