L1 (4yrs) wanted us to play church tonight. He decided that Mr. A was on the stage, so Mr. A needed to pull out his guitar and sing songs while L1 accompanied him on the xylophone. “The Love Never Fails song,” he said. So we did. Then L1 announced that he was Pastor Bobby and it was time to talk now. We asked him what he was going to talk about.
Rough transcript (since he didn’t provide us with sermon notes):
“I’m going to talk about worship and obedience and being thankful and God and Jesus. The first thing to talk about is being grateful. What are you thankful for?”
<He waited for a response. I said I was grateful for boys who liked to worship God.>
Oh, he responded with a big grin on his face. You make me very happy! Come up here! <beckons with hand> Come up here! That’s a good answer. Give me a high five! You did a good job! <We exchanged high fives and I sat back down.> It’s good to be thankful. We should always say thank you and people should say “you’re welcome” and when people say “thank you,” we should say “you’re welcome.” Okay – now it’s time to sing another song. Let’s sing Jesus Loves Me again.
And so we did. And then it was bedtime.
And they all lived happily ever after.
